| Description of the seal image | The scene is framed by line borders at the top and bottom. The seal image comprises of three scenes, a hunting scene on the left, and a ritual framing a contest on the right. A hero (archer), wearing a long, broad-belted robe with a fringed lower edge over a tunic, steps onto two reclining lions while aiming at a third, rampant one. The latter already has two arrows sticking out of its muzzle. Above them in the sky are a horseshoe-shaped symbol with two wedges (perhaps an earring), an eight-rayed star, and a bird. Next to this scene, two bearded heroes or attendants wearing Persian clothing (court robes) support the winged sun-disc with their raised hands. Between them is Bes, wearing a kilt, standing on two lions, and carrying two deer (stags) upside down, each by a hind leg. |
