Kategória Cylinder Seals
Description of the seal image The seal image comprises four scenes arranged in two superimposed registers framed and separated by line borders. In the upper register, a bearded hero grasps the head of a winged bull with one hand and the tail of a rampant leonine creature with the other. The latter pounces on a striding deer (stag). An eight-rayed star appears above the hybrid creature. In front of the deer is a V-shaped symbol, likely representing a fly. In the lower register, there are two ritual, and a contest scene. In the first ritual scene, a wild goat (ibex) stands below the winged sun-disc seemingly placed on a stand. The ritual scene consists of a divine figure (likely a human-headed apkallu) standing behind a bearded worshipper. The genie wears a long, open robe over a short tunic and has rays coming out of his back. The worshipper wears long, fringed robe decorated with a crosshatch pattern. Between the two figures is another fly. The contest scene depicts a winged lion-centaur grasping a rampant leonine creature from behind. The centaur wears a brimmed headdress.
